What Our Service is Like:
Worship:
Our band begins the service with music for about 25 minutes. In this time of worship, some will stand, some will sit, some will raise their hands. Just be yourself and do whatever is comfortable for you. We are passionate about worship, but we recognize that worship looks and feels different for each person. Our goal is to bring all that we are and have to God. In turn, we have great joy in experiencing God's presence. The time closes with a scripture reading and prayer.
Break Time:
After worship we make announcements about upcoming events or classes and then we break for about 5 minutes. You can get some coffee, stretch, meet new people, etc. For some people this is unusual and a little awkward, but it helps us connect with new friends and creates a little space to transition to the teaching. The Nursery and Children's classes are now available.
Message:
We have a teaching from the Bible for about 35 minutes that is not only easy to understand, but practical as well. The message is accompanied by visual images projected on a screen up front, including the text under consideration and images or video clips which help illustrate the ideas.
Closing:
We usually close out the morning with a worship song. While we sing the offering is collected. If you are a newcomer fell free to let offering collection pass. Additionally there are tables to either the side of the platform where you can receive communion. Please feel free to take the bread alone or dip it in the cup. We do not use a "common cup". Many at the Vineyard find weekly communion meaningful but you are not obliged to participate.
We also extend an invitation to receive personal prayer. Trained prayer team members will be availabe down front after the service to support and pray with you.
